Props to Greg Fowler for compelling the LTC to adopt a media relations policy that encompasses new media [and of course, props to the LTC too, for making the accommodation].
While I don’t share Greg’s enthusiasm for public transit (nor his uncompromising approach), I do share the belief that transparency and openness on the web benefits everyone in the long run — and in the short term as well, for anyone who is honest, open, and willing to grow.
But people will resist — it’s only natural. They don’t have to be crooked, or trying to hide incompetence… it just seems that way.
To anyone who isn’t comfortable with these changes, I say start here.
We’re perfectly willing to accommodate your concerns but you have to accommodate others in return. You have to be willing to learn and adjust. You can’t change the route once the bus has left. Your only other option is to get off.
